# Obsidian Bases Skill
This skill enables skills-compatible agents to create and edit valid Obsidian Bases (`.base` files) including views, filters, formulas, and all related configurations.
## Overview
Obsidian Bases are YAML-based files that define dynamic views of notes in an Obsidian vault. A Base file can contain multiple views, global filters, formulas, property configurations, and custom summaries.
## File Format
Base files use the `.base` extension and contain valid YAML. They can also be embedded in Markdown code blocks.

How to install
mdr add anbeime/skill/obsidian-bases@sha256:56cfe0cf12c3c570The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260826.8c770d7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
