How to start/smoke-test the supervisor process itself, and start, check, and kill fleet-sprints via its HTTP API only (POST /api/sprints on localhost:8787). Never call the fleet-sprint CLI directly. Trigger whenever asked to start/launch/check/stop/kill the supervisor or a sprint.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# fleet-supervisor (supervisor API)
Sprints are started, checked, and killed through the supervisor's HTTP API.
Default port: **8787**. Never invoke `apra-fleet workflow fleet-sprint` or
`bin/cli.mjs` directly -- always go through this API.
## 0. Start the supervisor (if not already running)
Check first: `curl -s -m 5 http://localhost:8787/api/sprints`. Connection
refused/timeout = not running. `{"sprints": [...]}` = already up, skip this.
Start it detached (it runs indefinitely -- exits only on `POST
/api/shutdown` or SIGINT/SIGTERM, never on its own). `apra-fleet install`
puts it under the user's home (needs Node.js 22.16+):

Start it from INSIDE the target project (any folder under it): the
supervisor resolves the project's `.beads` by walking up from its cwd,
exactly like `bd`. Starting from elsewhere: pass `--beads-dir <project

How to install
mdr add apra-labs/apra-fleet/fleet-supervisor@sha256:5a59d4b6f474c990The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261014.ed0a8c1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
