Quick bug-fix workflow — reproduce, find the root cause, fix via cf-implementer, verify, auto-review. TRIGGER — the user reports a bug or broken behavior: "fix this", "it's broken", "not working", "there's a bug", "this crashes", "debug this", "it throws", "failing test", "regression", "unexpected behavior"; a pasted stack trace or error message. SKIP — new features (use cf-plan or cf-tdd), performance complaints (use cf-optimize), and recurring or hard-to-reproduce bugs after a failed fix…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# $cf-fix
Fix the bug: **$ARGUMENTS**
## Workflow
### Step 0: Custom Guide
```!
bash "${PLUGIN_ROOT}/lib/load-custom-guide.sh" cf-fix
```
If the block above printed anything, apply only the `## Before`, `## Rules`, and `## After` sections; if it shows the raw command instead of output, re-run that exact `load-custom-guide.sh` fence now.
### Step 1: Understand the Bug
1. Read the error or description from `$ARGUMENTS`
2. If unclear, ask expected vs actual, and when it happens
### Step 2: Verify the Problem Exists
1. Run the failing test or command; capture exact output
2. If you **cannot reproduce**, tell the user and ask for context — do NOT guess
3. No test AND `--add-tests` (alias `--tdd`) → write one that fails. Else reproduce via existing tests or by running the code.
### Step 3: Recall Past Bugs + Explore Relevant Code
**3a. Check existing bug docs** (memory recall):
Recall memory (Verbs in `${PLUGIN_ROOT}/context/bootstrap.md`) with 2–3 keywords from the bug: `{ "query": "<bug keywords>", "type": "episode", "limit": 3 }`; grep scope `{CF_DOCS_ROOT}/memory/bugs/**/*.md`.
Read the top 1–2 matches; pass relevant findings to the explorer.
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add dinhanhthi/coding-friend/cf-fix@sha256:2540f6d1402f8649The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260926.ef3f61e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
