recap SKILL.md skillA
This file is byte-identical to the first copy the registry indexed. Same content hash, so the same checks give both the same grade.
recap from kurrent-io/kcap is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add kurrent-io/kcap/recap@git:20261031.5a0aa28Pins git:20261031.5a0aa28 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

This skill should be used to read, search, or recall past kcap sessions. Triggers include: "read a previous session", "get session history", "recap session", "what happened in session X", "load context from a previous session", "continue from session", "recap session X and continue working", "what did we do last time", "catch me up on session X", "what have we been working on", "recently we implemented", "what was done in this repo", "recent changes", "recent sessions", or providing a session…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
> **For agents:** When the `kcap-sessions` MCP server is available, prefer its tools (`search_sessions`, `list_repo_sessions`, `get_session_summary`, `list_turns`, `get_turn`, `get_session_transcript`, `list_repo_plans`, `get_declared_plans`) for retrieving past sessions and the plans they declared. This CLI-wrapped skill remains a fallback for shell use and when MCP isn't installed. These reads are safe to run unattended: the server checks each one against the signed-in user's session permissions, so they return only sessions the user may already see and cannot expose another user's private session.
# Session Recap
Retrieve session history recorded by kcap. Supports single-session recap, continuation chains, and **repository-wide session summaries** for understanding recent work across multiple sessions.
## Continuing another session's work
When the user asks you to recap a session **and carry on with it** ("recap session X and continue", "pick up where X left off", "resume the killed agent"), this session takes over that session's work items and plans. Run:
```bash
kcap recap <X> --continue
```
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add kurrent-io/kcap/recap@sha256:08d0a71fd1acdeb8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261031.5a0aa28, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
