Add a Pokémon or character to pokemanion from image files the user has — installing a sprite pair, cutting cycles out of a sheet, keying a background off, judging whether art will read at pane size. Use when someone wants a new sprite, character or Pokémon in their pokemanion pane, or hands you a gif or png and asks to make it a resident.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
The user has a picture and wants it living in their terminal. Your job is the judgement: which frames, whether the art will survive being shrunk, and what to write on its Pokédex card. The mechanical half is one command. ## What to ask They may arrive here by typing `--pokemanion add brock`, which does nothing but hand you this job. Ask one thing at a time and wait — several questions at once gets one answer. 1. **The resting animation.** A gif or png of what it does while waiting. They can drag the file in. 2. **The working animation** — what it does while the agent is busy. The same file again is fine when both cycles live in one sheet. 3. **Whether anything needs cutting.** Say what you can see, so they are choosing rather than guessing: "this has 36 frames, so it looks like four walk cycles — shall I take the front-facing ones for resting and the side-on ones for working?" A sheet of figures side by side needs `crop` instead, and two halves whose colours disagree need `recolour`. How to install
mdr add khatriadbhut/pokemanion/adding-a-character@sha256:0a0df09018c26795The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260816.734b22b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
