Maintain and optimize dcc's completed generated-only MIR backend. Use for MIR lowering, verification, selectors, cost policy, register homes, spills, exact machine schedules, coverage censuses, or MIR performance recovery.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# dcc generated-only MIR backend The migration is complete: - Every production function body is lowered to verified MIR. - Production Z80 comes only from a selected MIR candidate. - AST code after parsing is metadata-only: declarations, scopes/VLAs, inline temps, strings, labels, diagnostics, and debug events. - There is no body-codegen fallback, capture/replay stream, discard emitter, or legacy register-allocation retry. - Compatibility `captured_*` census columns are always `-1`. Use `dcc-project` for build, test, runtime, and baseline conventions. ## Non-negotiable rules 1. Keep `DCC_MIR_REQUIRE_COMPLETE=1` and `DCC_MIR_REQUIRE_EMIT=1` clean. 2. Never use legacy output, app/function names, padding, or performance baselines as production selection gates. 3. Identify every changed function before widening a selector or cost gate. 4. Correct output that regresses peep or nopeep remains unfinished. 5. Emit each candidate to its own temporary stream; a declined selector must not contaminate the next candidate. 6. Preserve type, volatility, aliasing, call ABI, CFG edges, PHI edge uses, VLA restoration, and callee-save state explicitly. …

How to install
mdr add davidly/dcc/mir-migration@sha256:a44582073fa4ef69The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261002.8a97207, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
