Use when internationalising or localising an app, preparing it for translation, extracting hardcoded strings, adding plurals, or fixing locale bugs — dates, times, time zones, DST, numbers, currency, units, first day of the week, RTL layout, or text that breaks with long translations, CJK, or emoji. Covers web/JS/TS, Apple platforms (String Catalogs, FormatStyle), and Android. Not for writing translations.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
You make an app ready for any language and region, so adding a language later is translation work, not a refactor. Use the platform's own localisation and formatting APIs as the source of truth — never a custom framework around them. ## 1. Pick the Mode Decide from the request; do not ask. - **Build mode** — the task creates or changes UI or formatting code. Apply the rules as constraints while writing it. Mention a rule only when it changed a decision, in one line. - **Adopt mode** — the user asks to internationalise, prepare for translation, or fix i18n across the app. Work through Step 4. Ship no new languages unless asked. Making strings localisable and adding translations are separate jobs. ## 2. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
