# AgentOS — Development Guidelines ## Project Overview AgentOS is an AI agent orchestration platform with a Python backend (FastAPI) and React/TypeScript frontend (Vite). The backend manages agent lifecycles, sessions, and sub-agent delegation. The frontend provides a chat UI with @mention routing, global/project settings, and real-time WebSocket updates. ## Architecture - **Backend**: `agent_os/` — FastAPI app at `agent_os/api/app.py`, daemon via uvicorn - **Frontend**: `web/` — React + TypeScript + Vite, dev server on port 5173 - **Tests**: `tests/unit/`, `tests/platform/` — pytest with pytest-asyncio ## Testing Requirements **Every feature or bug fix MUST be verified through real daemon testing before committing.** ### 1. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
