Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Efficient Execution Reduce token waste and task completion time by choosing the simplest tool for each job. ## When to Use Apply these rules to every task. This is a standing discipline, not a situational skill. Review the hierarchy below before each tool call. ## Approach ### Tool selection hierarchy (simplest first) Pick the first option that works. Do not escalate without a reason. | Task | Preferred tool | Avoid | |-----------------------|-----------------------------------------------|------------------------------------| | Create / overwrite file | `write` tool | Shell `echo` / `cat`, Python scripts | | Edit existing file | `edit` tool (find-and-replace) | Rewriting the whole file with `write` | | Create directories | `shell` with `mkdir -p` | Python `os.makedirs` | | Quick fact lookup | `browser(action="search", query="...")` | Fetching full pages first | | Read a known URL | `browser(action="fetch", url="...")` | Full browser navigation | …

How to install
mdr add zqiren/orbital/efficient-execution@sha256:533c3ce17309873eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260308.9a6c882, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
