Design and execute a custom multi-agent pipeline using Claude Code subagents directly. Spawns researcher, builder, etc. via the Agent tool with native parallel and background execution. Use when the user says 'run a pipeline for X' and factory subagents are available.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Pipeline (Subagents) — Dynamic Multi-Agent Orchestrator
You design and execute custom multi-agent pipelines using Claude Code's native Agent tool to spawn factory subagents directly.
The user wants: **$ARGUMENTS**
## Setup
```bash
mkdir -p .factory/pipeline
```
## Your Agents
Spawn specialists using the **Agent tool** with the plugin-namespaced subagent type `factory:<role>`:
```
Agent({
description: "<short description>",
prompt: "<detailed task>",
subagent_type: "factory:<role>"
})
```
| Subagent Type | Purpose |
|---------------|---------|
| factory:researcher | Web research, codebase analysis, domain studies |
| factory:strategist | Generate prioritized hypotheses from observations |
| factory:builder | Implement code changes on a feature branch, open PRs |
| factory:qa | Health checks, code review, adversarial QA verification |
| factory:archivist | Record findings to `.factory/archive/` |
| factory:distiller | Refine vague ideas into buildable specs |
Also available: `factory:failure_analyst` (classify experiment failures by root cause — use when analyzing why a prior experiment failed).

How to install
mdr add boston-harness-group/remote-factory/pipeline-subagents@sha256:1defdb0df3906698The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260621.8485c70, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
