Use when auditing a site for accidental noindex directives, investigating why important pages are not appearing in Google Search, or reviewing CMS settings that control indexing at the page or category level.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Make important pages indexable A page blocked from indexing cannot appear in search results, regardless of its content quality or backlinks. Accidentally blocking key landing pages, product pages, or blog posts is one of the most impactful technical SEO errors — often silently losing significant organic traffic. ## Quick Reference - Verify that pages you want ranked are not blocked by `noindex`, robots.txt, or `X-Robots-Tag` headers - Test indexability with Google Search Console's URL Inspection tool — 'URL is on Google' confirms indexing - Common accidental blocks: staging environments promoted to production, CMS default noindex settings, and overly broad robots.txt Disallow rules ## Check For each important page (homepage, key landing pages, product pages, top blog posts): (1) Check `<meta name='robots' content='...'>` — does it contain `noindex`? (2) Check `X-Robots-Tag` HTTP response header — does it contain `noindex`? (3) Check robots.txt — is the URL's path blocked by a Disallow rule? (4) In Google Search Console, use URL Inspection to confirm the page is indexed. Flag any important page with any form of noindex or robots.txt block. ## Fix …

How to install
mdr add thedaviddias/front-end-checklist/indexability@sha256:0b409bf1ce05bcb4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261004.4b0ddb9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
