Use this skill to check MoviePilot versions, inspect Release update state, download a Release update in the background, confirm installation, restart MoviePilot, or retain the existing Dev branch update flow. Prefer the built-in system APIs instead of container commands or manual file replacement.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# MoviePilot Update
Use this skill for MoviePilot restart and upgrade operations.
Use the built-in `moviepilot_api` tool only. The host selects fixed API routes, authenticates with the trusted Agent identity, and applies administrator and confirmation policy. Never request or pass an API token, URL, HTTP method, shell command, or legacy helper script.

Check for the highest stable V3 Release and inspect current progress. A manual check may replace an older prepared target with a newer version; failed checks preserve downloaded packages:

How to install
mdr add jxxghp/moviepilot/moviepilot-update@sha256:02f6d48fbbf6d1f3The line at the top of this page pins the label v7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
