# @mezzanine-ui/system > Design system foundation for Mezzanine UI — provides color palette, typography, spacing, radius, motion, and z-index tokens as CSS custom properties and SCSS mixins. ## Purpose `@mezzanine-ui/system` is the lowest-level package in the Mezzanine UI stack.
