# @mezzanine-ui/core
> CSS styles and shared TypeScript type definitions for Mezzanine UI — consumed by @mezzanine-ui/react to provide component styling.
## Purpose
`@mezzanine-ui/core` ships:
- Per-component SCSS stylesheets compiled to CSS
- Shared TypeScript types and constants used across components (e.g. `Size`, `Severity`, `Orientation`, calendar adapter interfaces)
- SCSS design-token utilities, sourced from `@mezzanine-ui/system`
This package does **not** export React components. It is a styling and type layer only.
## Style Import Pattern
The recommended approach is to load all component styles at once via the SCSS barrel:

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
