embedded-iot SKILL.md skillA
embedded-iot from travisjneuman/.claude is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add travisjneuman/.claude/embedded-iot@git:20260328.75c803aPins git:20260328.75c803a in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Embedded systems firmware, microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi), RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, BLE), bare-metal C/C++, and hardware peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO). Use when developing firmware, working with microcontrollers, or building IoT devices.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## Firmware Patterns
### GPIO & Peripherals
```c
// ESP-IDF GPIO example
gpio_config_t io_conf = {
.pin_bit_mask = (1ULL << GPIO_NUM_2),
.mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT,
.pull_up_en = GPIO_PULLUP_DISABLE,
.pull_down_en = GPIO_PULLDOWN_DISABLE,
.intr_type = GPIO_INTR_DISABLE,
};
gpio_config(&io_conf);
gpio_set_level(GPIO_NUM_2, 1);
```
### I2C Communication
```c
// Read sensor via I2C
i2c_cmd_handle_t cmd = i2c_cmd_link_create();
i2c_master_start(cmd);
i2c_master_write_byte(cmd, (SENSOR_ADDR << 1) | I2C_MASTER_WRITE, true);
i2c_master_write_byte(cmd, REG_TEMP, true);
i2c_master_start(cmd);
How to install
mdr add travisjneuman/.claude/embedded-iot@sha256:a99534481e2c8404The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260328.75c803a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
