Repairs Postman and Newman runs in CI - a reporter that never writes the HTML file the pipeline expects, a nightly job that fires requests as fast as it can until a partner API rate-limits it, or a report with one row per request when the collection asserts a dozen things between them. Authors Postman collections (requests, tests, variables, environments), runs them headless via the Newman CLI, configures reporters (cli / json / junit / html) for CI artifact upload, and drives data-driven runs…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# postman-collections ## Overview **Newman** is Postman's official CLI for running collections headlessly in CI ([newman-readme][readme]). The shape is two-step: author the collection in the Postman app (or import an OpenAPI spec), save it as `collection.json`, then run `newman run collection.json` in CI and emit JUnit / JSON for gating. [readme]: https://github.com/postmanlabs/newman This skill covers the headless Newman side. GUI authoring inside Postman is out of scope; its reference is [learning.postman.com](https://learning.postman.com/). ## When to use - The repo contains `*.postman_collection.json` (or the team exports collections to `collections/`). - API testing is the team's primary integration-testing layer and the team is already in the Postman ecosystem. - A CI workflow needs `newman run` with structured reporter output for PR gating. If the team uses TypeScript / JavaScript and prefers code-first authoring, evaluate `tavern-testing` (YAML) or `karate-testing` (Karate DSL) before adopting Postman/Newman - those keep tests next to source code rather than in a separate JSON artifact. ## Install ```bash npm install -g newman ``` …

How to install
mdr add testland/qa/postman-collections@sha256:b47fa002d2670370The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260820.2e2bc4b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
