Use when a task needs memory that outlasts the conversation: starting, updating, or recovering its Working Record, or before a compaction, pause, or handoff. It decides what the record says.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Track Work Keep one Working Record per task so a fresh context can pick up the work without the conversation that produced it. The record is memory for the agent doing the work: what is true now, what is in progress, what to read to resume, and the rough road ahead. The record is not authority, a Spec, a Plan, or a transcript. It works for any kind of task: code, research, writing, analysis, operations. The record has five sections: - **Current Context:** present understanding, including the optional `Work agreement` (what the user agreed you may do, and until when) and `What defines this task`, which points to the task's defining artifacts such as its Spec and Plan. - **Current Work:** the Current Slice (the unit of work in progress, with its `Material updates` log), `Recovery sources` to read when resuming, and one Next useful action. - **Future Work:** the rough route ahead, as proposed Slices and Checkpoints. - **History:** accepted Decisions, closed Checkpoints, and closed Slices. - **Notes:** free-form context with no authority. …

How to install
mdr add hassan-mohiddin/freeflow/track-work@sha256:2e8ef62620e60cc3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261019.afa6399, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
