UniFi security operations: traditional firewall rules, firewall groups, zone-based firewall (ZBF), ACL rules, port forwarding, VPN tunnels, site-to-site VPN, and content filtering. Use when the task involves network access control, firewall policies, traffic blocking, or VPN configuration. Zone-based firewall requires UniFi Network 9.0+ and local API mode.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# UniFi Security Operations **API mode requirements:** - Zone-based firewall, firewall rules/zones/groups: `local` only - ACLs, traffic matching lists: `local` only (the console's integration API) - Port forwarding, VPN: `local` only **Roles:** with bearer tokens, creating or updating firewall policies, ZBF policies, legacy firewall rules and network-to-zone assignments needs the `admin` role. The `operator` role can still manage ACL rules, port forwards, groups, zones and traffic matching lists. ## Traditional Firewall Rules | Tool | Description | |---|---| | `list_firewall_rules` | List all firewall rules on a site | | `create_firewall_rule` | Create a new firewall rule | | `update_firewall_rule` | Modify an existing firewall rule | | `delete_firewall_rule` | Delete a firewall rule (requires `confirm=True`) | ## Firewall Groups Groups are reusable IP/port sets referenced by rules. | Tool | Description | |---|---| | `list_firewall_groups` | List all firewall groups | | `get_firewall_group` | Get group members and details | | `create_firewall_group` | Create a generic firewall group | | `create_address_group` | Create an IP address group | …

How to install
mdr add enuno/unifi-mcp-server/unifi-security@sha256:fe94d57b43c160c8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261014.12b4c6e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
