This skill should be used when testing or debugging an embedded-runtime boundary exposed through a dynamically loaded C-ABI library or Unix-domain socket, including requests to inspect exports, exercise FFI callbacks, send framed messages, reproduce seam crashes or hangs, fuzz a boundary, or correlate probe output with runtime logs. Not for ordinary APIs, HTTP/WebSocket services, static libraries, or generated bindings.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # seam-probe
Use the bundled executable as the interface:

The short name `seam-probe` below means `"$SEAM_PROBE"`. A direct skill install
does not include the plugin-level launcher, crate, or hook; install the binary
independently on PATH or use the full plugin.
## Pick the surface
- `seam-probe inspect` parses a library to discover exports without loading or
executing it.
- `seam-probe ffi` loads a C-ABI dylib and drives lifecycle, callbacks, and
input lanes described by a manifest.
- `seam-probe socket` sends NDJSON operations to a Unix-domain stream socket
using the selected framing.
- `seam-probe vocab` prints the current stdin/stdout contract.
Run `seam-probe vocab` as preflight. If the launcher reports that the binary is
not built, verify `cargo` is available and build the pinned crate:

How to install
mdr add johnkozaris/jko-claude-plugins/seam-probe@sha256:f66181019fecff96The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260823.7b6e838, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
