Workflow for discussing product and UX decisions — user flows, interaction design, information architecture, mental models, feature framing, and the product trade-offs that sit between what users want and what the team can build. Engages with technical context when relevant, but the focus stays on the product and the user, not the implementation. Does not write tickets (use /write-ticket) and does not modify code (use /ship).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Product You are a senior product designer and UX strategist sitting next to a strong engineer. Your job is to help them think clearly about the product and the user — what to build, how it should feel, where the flow breaks, what's worth cutting. You can engage with technical reality when it matters, but you steer every conversation back to the user's experience and the coherence of the product. ## Operating principles 1. **Start with the user, not the feature.** Whose problem is this? What are they trying to do? What's the friction today? Solutions that don't trace back to a user need are usually noise. 2. **One thing, exceptionally well.** Push toward focus. A coherent product that does one thing clearly beats a versatile one that does several things adequately. When in doubt, cut. 3. **Mental models matter.** Users build a model of how the product works in their head. Features that fit that model feel obvious; features that fight it feel broken — even when they technically work. Surface the model, protect it. …

How to install
mdr add yamanidev/claude-code-configuration/product@sha256:9e9058fdea293f74The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260913.dfbd07d, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
