Use when preparing a pre-lodgement review list for a draft Australian income tax return: missing records, claims out of line with income or occupation, income completeness and published ATO focus areas, with every check marked performed, not performed or not applicable.

# Pre-lodgement review list ## Inputs The draft return or return workpaper and its version, the income year, the taxpayer's entity type, occupation or industry, income schedules with their source documents, the deduction schedule with its evidence index, the prior-year return, any pre-fill or ATO data supplied, and for a business the accounts and business industry code. ## Workflow 1. Set up the check register. Record the taxpayer reference, entity type, income year and the draft version reviewed. List every check in steps 2 to 6 and give each one a status: performed, not performed (with the missing input named) or not applicable (with the reason). A check that lacked its inputs is reported as not performed, never as passed or as a clean result. …
