# PMX Canvas — Project Instructions Standalone spatial canvas workbench for coding agents. Infinite 2D canvas with nodes, edges, pan/zoom, minimap, and real-time updates — controlled through MCP, HTTP API, or a Bun-based JavaScript/TypeScript SDK. Extracted from [PMX](https://github.com/pskoett/pmx). The canvas is the agent's extended working memory: humans pin nodes to curate context, agents read that curation via MCP resources. Provide concise, focused responses. Skip non-essential context, and keep examples minimal. ## Core Principles ### 1. Think Before Coding Don't assume. Don't hide confusion. Surface tradeoffs. - **State assumptions explicitly** — If uncertain, ask rather than guess - **Present multiple interpretations** — Don't pick silently when ambiguity exists - **Push back when warranted** — If a simpler approach exists, say so - **Stop when confused** — Name what's unclear and ask for clarification - **Attack the premise.** If two fixes based on the same assumption fail the same check, write down that assumption and test it directly before trying another fix. Use the smallest experiment that can disprove it; this is not permission for an unrelated redesign. …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
