sensor-patterns SKILL.md skillA
sensor-patterns from hermeticormus/libreembed-claude-code is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add hermeticormus/libreembed-claude-code/sensor-patterns@git:20260930.ba05790Pins git:20260930.ba05790 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Sensor patterns in embedded C: SPI register protocol, NTC thermistor conversion, multi-point calibration tables, median filters for spike rejection, and temperature compensation. Use when writing a sensor driver or cleaning up noisy readings.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## Knowledge Base
Sensor driver, calibration, and filtering patterns for embedded C.

## Pattern 1: SPI Sensor Register Protocol
Most SPI sensors use: CS assert → [address byte with R/W bit] → [data bytes] → CS deassert.
```c
/* Generic SPI sensor: 8-bit register address, bit7 = R/W (1=read) */
/* Example: ICM-42688 IMU, MPU-9250, LIS3DH */
uint8_t spi_sensor_read_reg(uint8_t reg)
{
uint8_t tx[2] = { reg | 0x80U, 0x00U }; /* Bit7=1: read */
uint8_t rx[2] = { 0 };
spi_cs_assert();
spi_transfer_bytes(tx, rx, 2);
spi_cs_deassert();
return rx[1]; /* Byte 0 = dummy (address phase), byte 1 = data */
}
void spi_sensor_write_reg(uint8_t reg, uint8_t val)
{
uint8_t tx[2] = { reg & 0x7FU, val }; /* Bit7=0: write */
spi_cs_assert();
spi_transfer_bytes(tx, NULL, 2);
spi_cs_deassert();
}
/* Burst read: read N registers starting at addr */
void spi_sensor_read_burst(uint8_t start_reg, uint8_t *buf, uint8_t len)
{
uint8_t addr = start_reg | 0x80U;
spi_cs_assert();
spi_transfer_bytes(&addr, NULL, 1); /* Send address */
spi_transfer_bytes(NULL, buf, len); /* Receive data */
spi_cs_deassert();
How to install
mdr add hermeticormus/libreembed-claude-code/sensor-patterns@sha256:7cf1653ff2b86a58The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260930.ba05790, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
