# src/core/render — `renderDocxPages`: docx → per-page PNGs / JPGs
`@core/render` is docx-cli's **only subsystem that depends on an external runtime** — it shells out to Microsoft Word or LibreOffice to produce a PDF, then rasterizes the PDF in-process via the bundled PDFium WASM. The lens exists because the CLI is consumed by AI agents that can read PNGs — having a ground-truth visual is qualitatively different from inspecting OOXML or the typed AST.

How to install
mdr add kklimuk/docx-cli/src/core/render/CLAUDE.md@sha256:2855cd095c5320b8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260718.fcfd351, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
