Create or install an agent skill for Claude, Cursor, Codex, and Muse together. Use when authoring a new skill, adding SKILL.md, home-linking a project skill, or when the user says create-skill / install a skill. Overrides single-harness Cursor-only install advice.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Creating skills (Claude + Cursor + Codex + Muse) ## Invariants (assert) - Skill markdown MUST NOT reference files that do not exist in this repo or in that skill package (except allowlisted consumer/runtime contract paths such as `.cursor/judge-swarm-bindings.json`). Enforced by `scripts/ci/check_skill_file_refs.py`. - A new skill MUST be available to **Claude, Cursor, Codex, and Muse** — never only the harness the agent happens to be running in. - Prefer putting portable skills under `product/skills/<name>/` (or mined lessons under `corpus/skills/<name>/`) and running `./install.sh`. That is the only path that keeps all four harness roots in sync automatically. See [docs/ecosystem.md](../../../docs/ecosystem.md). Engine skills (`reflect`, `create-skill`, …) live under `engine/skills/` only. - Claude-only skills MUST be listed in `CLAUDE_ONLY_SKILLS` in `install.sh` (and nowhere else). Muse-only skills — meaningful only on the harness without a hook pipeline — MUST be listed in `MUSE_ONLY_SKILLS` instead. How to install
mdr add edbertchan/catstack/create-skill@sha256:212e7e6f5ad131b4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260929.dc367db, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
