Plan on disk instead of in the plan-mode UI — write the plan to a git-tracked file under docs/plans/ whose name doubles as the approval gate, publish it as a draft PR so it can be reviewed as a diff, and ask clarifying questions as numbered prose instead of AskUserQuestion. Use whenever you would otherwise enter plan mode or call AskUserQuestion (ExitPlanMode); mandatory in a remote/web session, where both of those UIs lose answers.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
## Why this skill exists
A plan on disk is a different artifact from a plan in an approval dialog:
- **Reviewable on another machine, on the operator's schedule.** The plan rides
the branch, so it is pulled and read in the same tools as code, hours later.
- **Room for sections plan mode has nowhere to put** — notably the mandatory
`## DRY notes`, which forces the reuse-vs-duplication call to be argued before
any code exists rather than discovered in review.
- **The filename is the approval gate**, and the `git mv` that clears it is a
commit — so _when_ approval arrived and _in whose words_ outlives the session.
- **Reviewable as a diff, not just as a file.** The plan is published as a draft
PR (§ "Publishing the plan"), so feedback arrives as inline comments and
threads — the surface already in use for code — instead of chat prose.
- **Approval carries into the next session.** The turn ends with a copyable
`/go <branch>` line, so implementation starts from a recorded decision instead
of re-litigating it.
- **Questions as numbered prose stay in the transcript** — tersely answerable
("1b, 2a"), and re-readable after a context wipe.

How to install
mdr add vzakharov/muthur/plan@sha256:e86248dff0782e58The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261029.b2079f0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
