Create and debug Pi extensions with custom tools, slash commands, UI components, lifecycle event handlers, compaction hooks, and session persistence. ALWAYS use when extending Pi beyond built-ins or troubleshooting extension API behavior. Covers current @earendil-works ExtensionAPI shapes, registerCommand string arguments, registerTool execute signatures, sendMessage/sendUserMessage, ctx.compact(), ctx.reload(), session entries, and common migration pitfalls from older @mariozechner examples.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Pi Extension Development
Build Pi coding-agent extensions with the **current** ExtensionAPI. Use the Pi documentation and examples that come with your installed Pi package as the canonical source when in doubt. Typical locations are the package `docs/`, `examples/extensions/`, and generated type definitions for the installed version.
When implementing or debugging an extension, read the relevant docs/examples for your installed Pi version first and prefer current examples over memory.

How to install
mdr add valtterimelkko/agent-workflow-skills/pi-extension@sha256:c643df0502e69322The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260611.6de34bf, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
