Not sure which skill to reach for? Name the situation and get routed to one.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Which Skill The user does not know which skill fits. Read their situation, then **name one skill** and say why in a sentence. Recommend, never invoke: most of the skills below are user-invoked, so only the user can start them. If the situation is genuinely ambiguous, ask one question that separates the branches, not a menu of everything. ## The pipeline Most work runs one straight line (**decide → spec → tickets → build**) over `.scratch/<slug>/`. Route by where the user actually is: | They have… | They want… | Route to | |---|---|---| | a vague idea | it stress-tested | `grill-with-docs` (default in an existing codebase), or `grill-me` for a plain interview | | work too big for one session | a map of the decisions | `wayfinder` | | an open question needing sources | cited findings | `research` | | a question only someone else can answer | a document to send them | `to-questionnaire` | | a settled conversation | it written down | `to-spec` | | a spec | build ticket files | `to-tickets` | | an inbound issue or external PR | it categorised and briefed | `triage` | | one ticket | it built end to end | `implement` | …

How to install
mdr add leek/agent-skills/which-skill@sha256:426c451119dcce05The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.4781c2c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
