Keeps commits small and meaningful in a ddd-ts-kit project. One use case or one concept per commit, generated files in the commit of what generated them, conventional messages scoped by bounded context, a target size, and how to split a change that grew. Use when about to commit, when the user asks to commit, to write a commit message or to split a change, or when the guard reports too many uncommitted changes. To check the code before the commit use quality-gate.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Commit discipline A commit is one thing a reviewer can understand and a team can revert. In this architecture that thing has a natural size: **one slice**. ## What goes in one commit | Commit | Holds | |---|---| | a use case | its `application/commands|queries/<use-case>/` folder, the domain behaviour it needs, its route, their specs | | a concept alone, when the use case would grow too large | one aggregate, value object or policy with its spec and builder | | a contract | one integration event or read contract of a `published-language/`, with its publisher | | a strategic step | one artefact of `docs/architecture/` and the updated plan | | a decision | one `docs/adr/` record and the config entry it justifies | Always in the same commit as what caused them: the files the generator wrote and updated (the `created` and `updated` lists of its output), the regenerated barrel `<context>.declarations.ts`, the generated lists of `CONTEXT.md`, the glossary row a new name needed, the contracts under `openapi/`, the event catalog, `docs/context-map.md`. A generated file committed alone, or left for later, breaks `docs --check` on one side of the history. …

How to install
mdr add gbourgeat/ddd-ts-kit/commit-discipline@sha256:60090c1b321d3ff3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261012.e0454b0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
