Verify the factual claims in a piece of text — an article, post, transcript, list of statements, or anything else the user pastes in — and return a Markdown table classifying each claim as Correct, Partially Correct, or Incorrect, backed by cited sources. Trigger this whenever the user asks to "fact-check", "verify", "check the accuracy of", "is this true", or shares a draft/post/claim and wants to know if the numbers, dates, quotes, or statements in it hold up. Works in any language — match…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Fact Checker Verify factual claims against reputable sources and report the verdict in a standard table. The value of this skill is in cited, sourced verification — not recall — so every claim gets checked against live sources, even ones that seem obviously true or false. ## Step 1 — Identify the claims Pull out every distinct, checkable factual statement from the input: something with a truth value that evidence can confirm or refute (a number, a date, an attribution, an event, a mechanism). Leave out opinions, predictions, and subjective framing — they have no evidence to check against. - If the input contains no checkable claims, or a statement is too vague to verify as written (undefined scope, no clear referent), don't guess at what was meant — ask the user to clarify or restate it in checkable form, and don't produce a table until you have something concrete to check. - If the input is a mix of checkable claims and other content (opinions, hedges, predictions), check only the checkable parts. Mention once, outside the table, that the rest was excluded and why — don't caveat this per row. ## Step 2 — Research each claim …

How to install
mdr add ibrahimsobh/aiskills/fact-checker@sha256:4f8bceb0ded5c0e2The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.b426679, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
