Write, run and debug Probe workflows, the YAML files the `probe` CLI runs to test and monitor HTTP APIs, gRPC services, databases, mail, SSH hosts, shell commands and browsers. Use when creating or changing a Probe workflow, when a `probe` run fails, or when asked to add an API test, a health check or a monitor with Probe.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Probe
Probe runs a YAML workflow: jobs that run in parallel unless they declare `needs`, each a list of steps that call an action and check the result with a `test` expression. The same file serves as a test in CI and, with `repeat`, as a monitor.
## Read the docs from the binary first
The installed `probe` prints its own documentation, matching its version. Read the pages you need before writing YAML instead of relying on memory:

How to install
mdr add mozership/probe/probe@sha256:943214361c2c0a61The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261018.a043ddd, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
