Manage the project task backlog as plain markdown files in tasks/. Use when the user asks to list or query existing tasks, to update or expand one, to triage or split backlog items, or to work across several tasks at once, and as the fallback for any tasks, todos, or backlog request naming no single lifecycle step. Not for one named step on one task, which a sibling owns for creation, readiness checking, explanation, next-work selection, implementation, audit, and finish.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# task <task_skill> <role> The task skill is the hub and source of truth of the `task_*` family: the **project-local backlog** that manages a project's upcoming work and todos as plain-markdown task files living next to the code. The concept behind the whole system: every task file is written to be **self-sufficient**. The file alone is enough to implement the work from, including in a later session with no memory of the task's creation. How to install
mdr add theafh/ai-modules/task@sha256:f105dd1b7da8a1c0The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.3.43, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
