Keep a reviewable decision trail for long-running or unattended work: one append-only TSV log, one row per decision with its why, evidence, and result. Use when starting an autonomous, multi-phase, or loop run a human reviews after stepping away, when a reviewer needs the trail to trust a result without rerunning it, or when the user asks for a decision log or says show your work.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Show me your work
For work a human reviews after the fact, a decision trail lets them reconstruct what was decided, why, and on what evidence, without rerunning the work or reading the whole transcript. Keep one canonical log so the trail is consistent and a future agent can find it.
## A third artifact type
This log is a per-run audit ledger, and it is deliberately not either of the catalog's other two record types:
- **Not a handoff.** The handoff skill writes a resume pointer: where the work stands right now, overwrite-don't-append, so a fresh session picks up losslessly. This log is the opposite shape on purpose: append-only history of one run, kept so a reviewer can audit it, never read to resume. The handoff's overwrite rule still stands; it applies to the handoff, not to this ledger.
- **Not domain memory.** The domain-memory skill keeps a repo's durable institutional why: settled decisions and terms that outlive any run. This log is scoped to one run and is usually discarded after review. A decision made mid-run that deserves to outlive the run still goes to domain memory through its own write moments; a row here is evidence, not institutional record.

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.2dc70d0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
A 17 of 17 checks passed. Fixed automatic checks with no AI involved, so the same checks give the same answer every run.
