Agent delegation best practices for constructing effective subagent prompts with proper scoping.

# Delegation Skill

Activate this skill when delegating work to subagents during orchestration execution. This skill provides the templates, rules, and patterns for constructing effective delegation prompts that produce consistent, high-quality results.

## Protocol Injection

Before constructing any delegation prompt, inject the shared agent base protocol:

### Prompt Assembly Order
1. Required header (`Agent` / `Phase` / `Batch` / `Session` — see Agent Tool Dispatch Contract)
2. Agent Base Protocol (load `agent-base-protocol` via `get_skill_content`)
3. Filesystem Safety Protocol (load `filesystem-safety-protocol` via `get_skill_content`)
4. **TOOL RESTRICTIONS block (immediately after the protocols, before any task content)** — see Tool Restriction Enforcement
5. **FILE WRITING RULES block (immediately after tool restrictions)**
6. Context chain from prior phases (Context Chain Construction, including the Missing Context Fallback placeholder) plus the Downstream Consumer Declaration
7. Task-specific instructions (Delegation Prompt Template)
8. Scope boundaries and prohibitions (the template's `Do NOT` list)

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261019.2f1c8b3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
