Turn what a work session produced into durable knowledge — draft new decisions, update changed facts, flag contradictions, catch human-doc drift. Use after a work session that touched decisions, facts, or documented behavior, e.g. "run the knowledge check", "did anything here need capturing as a decision or fact".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
If the project has no knowledge system yet, run `bootstrap` first — this skill maintains what that one sets up. For whole-knowledge-base health, independent of any one session, run `lint` instead — this skill only reasons about what just happened. ## Artifact model This skill's sibling `../../shared/artifact-model.md` defines the four artifact types, their fields, the derivation recipe, and the economy rule for anything drafted here — read it before drafting anything. ## Checks, one pass per invocation 1. **New decision?** Draft a stub: next id, title, one-line motivation, `track: product | process`, `status: draft`. Don't finalize without the owning domain's sign-off — once given, set `status: active` and `accepted-by: <name>` in the same edit, not just the former. If it explicitly replaces an existing decision, also update that decision's `status` to `superseded` and add `superseded-by: <new-decision-id>` — don't leave two `active` decisions on the same topic for a later `lint` pass to catch. 2. **Fact changed?** Update the fact file and its `last-verified`. If the governing decision is no longer current, surface the contradiction now. …

How to install
mdr add vivantel/kms/capture@sha256:0ab3e30ad588871cThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260912.4cdd5bb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
