# Manifesto A manifesto is not an about page with better adjectives. It is a document that makes a claim about the world, states what follows from that claim, and names what the writer is giving up in order to act on it. Everything in this skill comes from reading the collection at [manifestos.tech](https://www.manifestos.tech/) and taking apart what the good ones actually do. The single test: **could a competent, well-funded competitor publish the opposite claim and mean it?** If not, you have written a description, not a position. "We believe in quality software" fails. "Your files should outlive the app that made them" passes, because a cloud-native company would genuinely disagree. ## Reference files Read the one you need. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
