Defines preservation, format, and section rules for SDD specification artifacts (spec.md, plan.md, tasks.md, checklists). Use when editing feature-artifact files under specs/<feature-folder>/ to prevent accidental corruption of cross-referenced IDs, priorities, and gating state.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

> Runtime primer: `AGENTS.md` §Artifact Conventions. This file is the expanded canonical reference for rationale, exceptions, and remediation details; it is not a required read for ordinary workflow execution. `scripts/drift-report.mjs --strict` checks parity for the runtime-critical contract. # Artifact Convention Rules These rules apply whenever an agent reads or modifies files inside a Feature Workspace at `specs/<feature-folder>/`. The ADR preservation rules in this file also apply to standalone ADRs under `specs/adrs/`. They protect the integrity of cross-referenced identifiers, gating state, and structural conventions that downstream phases depend on. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
