Testing and code quality context for Jest, React Testing Library, ESLint, and test patterns. Use when writing tests or fixing linting issues.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Testing & Quality
**Technologies**: Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest, ESLint
## Required Knowledge
- Jest test framework
- React Testing Library patterns
- API testing with Supertest
- In-memory database testing (MongoDB Memory Server, pg-mem)
- ESLint configuration
- Test-driven development
## Relevant Documentation
| Document | Topics Covered |
|----------|----------------|
| `docs/development/LINTING.md` | ESLint setup, auto-fix, IDE integration |
| `docs/development/BACKEND.md` | Backend testing patterns |
| `docs/development/FRONTEND.md` | Frontend testing patterns |
## Testing Commands
```bash
# Unit tests (in-memory DBs — no services needed, default)
cd backend && npm test
cd backend && npm run test:coverage
./dev.sh test # same, runs inside Docker container
# Integration tests (real Docker Compose services)
./dev.sh up # start mongo + postgres first
./dev.sh test:integration # INTEGRATION_TEST=true npm test --forceExit
# or manually:
INTEGRATION_TEST=true npm --prefix backend test -- --forceExit
# Frontend tests
cd frontend && npm test
cd frontend && npm run test:coverage
# Linting
npm run lint
…
The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261031.de1e176, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
