clud-docker-rust-app-dev SKILL.md skillA
This file is byte-identical to the first copy the registry indexed. Same content hash, so the same checks give both the same grade.
clud-docker-rust-app-dev from talos-hq/clud is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add talos-hq/clud/clud-docker-rust-app-dev@git:20261028.1d1ca1cPins git:20261028.1d1ca1c in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Build a Rust app inside Docker for development iteration, using fast incremental cargo builds via named volumes for target/ + CARGO_HOME + RUSTUP_HOME, source bind-mounted with no COPY, soldr-wrapped cargo, and a Python orchestrator. Not for deployment: this produces a developer harness, not a shippable image; for production/distribution images use a multi-stage Dockerfile with cargo chef.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<!-- managed-by: clud --> # /clud-docker-rust-app-dev **Development harness, not a deployment image.** Containerize a Rust application so that **incremental cargo builds inside the container are seconds, not minutes** — including on Windows + Docker Desktop, where the WSL2 9P translation layer is the silent killer of cargo fingerprints. The output of this skill is a **dev iteration loop** — `python ci/perf_local.py cargo build` runs incrementally inside a container with the host's source bind-mounted and cargo state in named volumes. The image itself is never `docker push`ed; it's a per-developer scratch environment. For production images that *do* ship, see the "When NOT to use this skill" section below. This playbook is distilled from the two reference implementations: - `~/dev/soldr/docker/cook-shared-cache/` + `bench/cook_in_docker.sh` + `ci/perf_local.py` — minimal single-image setup with three named volumes, plus a thin Python wrapper that forwards arbitrary `cargo` invocations. …

How to install
mdr add talos-hq/clud/clud-docker-rust-app-dev@sha256:dec6b6cd94390fd4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261028.1d1ca1c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
