Compress prose-heavy docs into caveman format while preserving technical substance, code, paths, URLs, and structure.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Caveman Compress ## Purpose Compress docs and natural language files such as `AGENTS.md`, todos, preferences, and repo notes into caveman-speak to reduce input tokens. Work directly in the active Codex session. Do not create backup files by default. ## Trigger `/caveman:compress <filepath>` or when the user asks to compress a memory file. ## Discovery - Inspect current repo first when the user does not name files. - Use `git status --porcelain` and `git diff --name-only` to find changed files. - Use `rg` and `find` for nearby docs, plus bounded semantic matching for likely prose neighbors. - Prefer repo-owned docs and notes by default. Allow explicit outside-repo paths when named. - Use `request_user_input` for ambiguous or lower-confidence candidates and include scored recommendations. ## Process 1. If the user names specific files, compress those directly. 2. If the target is a repo sweep, compress matching docs from the candidate set discovered above. 3. Map changed files to nearby docs with path, stem, README/AGENTS/docs conventions, and bounded semantic search. …

How to install
