Full-sweep mode: runs a unified analysis across all quality dimensions — code decay, architecture, tech debt, and test quality — then applies fixes directly to the codebase. Safe changes are auto-applied; risky changes are confirmed before execution. Drawing on twelve classic engineering books. Triggers when: user wants to "fix everything", "sweep the codebase", "auto-fix all issues", "clean up the whole project", or asks for a single command that both diagnoses and remediates quality problems.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

Show the pre-flight consent notice and wait for one-time approval (Step 0 of the guide) 2. Enumerate scope and initialize pipeline state (Step 1 of the guide) 3. Run the four dimensions in sequence — review, test, debt, audit — each scanning, classifying, fixing, and verifying (Steps 2–5 of the guide) 4. Iterate over modified files and their consumers until a clean round or the cap (Step 6 of the guide) 5. How to install
mdr add hyhmrright/brooks-lint/brooks-sweep@sha256:401eedb5bda39072The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260920.0cb86a7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
