Hand the session to a fresh one instead of compacting it: write a summary of the conversation to a committed file, start a new session on the branch, and stop. Invoke as `/relay [<to-be first message>]`, the argument being what the operator would type first after a compact, a skill in it named bare (`/relay go`, `/relay handle`); the new session runs `/relay take <branch>`. `/relay park` writes the summary and starts no session, for an operator coming back later. Use when the operator says…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
A relay is `/compact` done in the open. The summary is written as an ordinary turn — its tokens priced like any other, its text a file the operator can read — and a new session, the **successor**, starts from it. The branch already holds the plan, the commits and the PR, and the successor re-reads them from disk, so the summary carries only what the tree does not. Three entries, told apart by the first token: `take` is the pickup, `park` the handoff with no successor; anything else, or nothing, is the handoff and its to-be first message. ## `/relay [<to-be first message>]` — hand off The argument is the message the operator would have sent first after a compact, addressed to the successor: a skill named bare (`go`, `handle`, `finalize and merge` — `@.claude/skills/CLAUDE.md` says why), prose, or both. It becomes the summary's Next step verbatim, and the summary dwells on what that message will need. With no argument, the Next step is the agent's own call under § "Step 2"'s rule for it. ### Step 1 — Leave the branch resumable **An opaque auto-branch is renamed first**, per `@.claude/skills/branch-rename/SKILL.md`, unless a PR is open on it — renaming a …

How to install
mdr add vzakharov/muthur/relay@sha256:e7d0442e427a273fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261029.b2079f0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
