Semantic vector search with moflo — RAG over your own documents, similarity matching, context-aware retrieval via HNSW (node:sqlite-backed). Use when building retrieval layers for chat, search, or context-assembly.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# MoFlo Vector Search (RAG)
Semantic search over your own documents, backed by moflo's HNSW index in `.moflo/moflo.db` (node:sqlite, Node 22+ built-in). Small enough to ship in a devDependency; fast enough for interactive retrieval at 100k–1M vectors.
## When to Use This vs `memory-patterns`
- **`memory-patterns`** — structured, namespaced memory you own (sessions, learnings, patterns). Keys matter. Entries are conceptual units.
- **This skill (`vector-search`)** — search over documents you've ingested for retrieval. Entries are content chunks. Keys are just stable IDs for dedupe.
Both use the same index; the difference is how you chunk and what you put in the `value` field.
## Ingest
Two paths. Pick the one that matches your source of truth:
### A. Ad-hoc ingest from Claude Code

How to install
mdr add eric-cielo/moflo/vector-search@sha256:fb0ff5946b2ccac0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260515.d04f7b2, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
