Use when a bounded delegation needs a session of its own, or the user asks for a Stint — spawning an independent Stint, or standing up a routine that wakes on an event or a clock. Use it also whenever a message arrives from another session, before addressing a peer, and when listing, observing, resuming or retiring any of them.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Stint A Stint carries a bounded delegation whose work needs a session of its own, or one the user explicitly asks for. This skill decides **whether work belongs in such a session at all**, **what wakes it**, and writes the brief. It does not implement monitoring — each wake mechanism below is already built, and the choice between them is the work here. `<config>` below is the Claude configuration directory: `$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR` when it is set, otherwise `~/.claude`. ## Does it belong in a session of its own - **An explicit request for a Stint → a Stint.** Go to **Which wake**. - **Otherwise ask: can this session discharge its responsibility without receiving the completed work?** That question, not whether the caller waits, establishes whether the work needs a session of its own. - **Yes → a Stint or a monitor.** Completion is recorded at the brief's durable destination and the creator is not a required recipient. Go to **Which wake**. - **No → it stays here.** A result this session must collect and check is a native subagent when it belongs in this same context, and otherwise a prompt written and run against a CLI. …

How to install
mdr add jongwony/cc-plugin/stint@sha256:3cb794f17dad4554The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.bd01851, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
