Use when reviewing stylesheets, component styles, and responsive behavior related to Order CSS files correctly. Check the rendered layout across breakpoints and interaction states before proposing a fix.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Order CSS files correctly Incorrect CSS/JS order causes render-blocking delays and FOUC—users see unstyled content while waiting for styles to load. ## Quick Reference - Load all CSS files before JavaScript in the document head - Use async/defer for non-critical JavaScript - Inline critical CSS for faster first paint - Prevents FOUC (Flash of Unstyled Content) ## Check Verify that all CSS files are loaded before JavaScript files in the document head to prevent render-blocking and ensure proper styling precedence. ## Fix Reorganize head section to load all CSS files before JavaScript files, except for asynchronous scripts that don't block rendering. ## Explain Explain why CSS should load before JavaScript to prevent FOUC (Flash of Unstyled Content) and ensure optimal rendering performance. ## Code Review Review stylesheets, component styles, and responsive states related to Order CSS files correctly. Flag exact selectors, declarations, or breakpoints that violate the rule in the rendered UI. --- For full implementation details, code examples, and framework-specific guidance, see `references/rule.md`. How to install
mdr add thedaviddias/front-end-checklist/css-order@sha256:787106a2a3b274f0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261004.4b0ddb9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
