Generate a project-local skill that formally verifies the code where a bug costs the most and tests reach the least, in any language, with whichever verification tool fits. Use for /create-formal-verification-skill, "model-check this race", "prove this invariant", or when concurrency, retries, state machines, parsers, or unsafe code need more than tests.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Create a formal verification skill
A test checks the cases that someone thought to write. Formal verification checks every case in a stated scope: every order of steps in a model, every input up to a bound, or every input. This skill finds the part of the repo where that matters most, verifies one property of it, and leaves a project-local skill that lets the next agent check a change against that property. Write that skill for an agent who reads it cold, mid-change, and has never seen your work. The user must be able to trust the result and act on it without learning the verification language.
**Platform note.** Keep one shared generated skill tree: `.claude/skills/<name>/` on Claude Code or `.agents/skills/<name>/` on Codex, not both. Resolve host tools through [`codex-tools.md`](../poteto-mode/references/codex-tools.md). The coordinating parent owns every Git mutation; a delegated writer only edits its assigned files and reports checks.

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261027.b654aeb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
A 17 of 17 checks passed. Fixed automatic checks with no AI involved, so the same checks give the same answer every run.
