You MUST use this when a project-scoped GitHub CLI (gh) command is about to run on github.com, including every subsequent command in the same session, or when checking or switching the project's GitHub account, and before the first project-scoped GitLab API or glab call in a project whose .env/.env names GL_ACC. Also applies after gh or GitLab access failures. Not for plain git, SSH, gh help or version output, authentication setup, or GitHub hosts other than github.com.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# gh-switch Before a project-scoped GitHub CLI operation, ensure that the active github.com account matches GH_ACC in the project's .env/.env, and report a confirmed switch in one line. Before GitLab API calls, check that the project's GitLab token belongs to GL_ACC. A project names its account with one line in its gitignored `.env/.env`: ```dotenv GH_ACC=<login> ``` Without that line the helper adds it itself when the account is unambiguous and `.env/.env` is gitignored: the only github.com remote owner that is a logged-in `gh` account, or else the one GH_ACC that every sibling clone of the same owner (other Git repositories in the parent directory) names. It writes `# used by gh-switch skill` and `GH_ACC=<login>` at the top and keeps every other line as is. Otherwise it switches nothing; `gh` keeps whatever account is active, and the helper says so whenever the project has a github.com remote. A project on a GitLab host names its account and token in the same file: ```dotenv GL_ACC=<username> GITLAB_TOKEN=<GITLAB_TOKEN> ``` For GitLab nothing is switched: the token is the only credential, so the helper checks …

How to install
mdr add sentimony/skills/gh-switch@sha256:9d8a81acba4a3619The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.1.6, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
