Design and verify professional multi-sheet KiCad hierarchies generated from Circuit Weaver functional sections. Use when adding, splitting, renaming, or reviewing schematic sheets, cross-sheet interfaces, root symbols, sheet ownership, or final hierarchy ERC.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# KiCad Hierarchy
Treat the design spec as the source of truth. Do not hand-build or patch a root
schematic with an assumed repository script.
## Define functional ownership
Give every architectural block a stable unique `id` and explicit `section`:

Use one section per major functional responsibility: input protection, each
power stage, processing, sensors/analog front end, communications, external
I/O, user interface, and debug/test. Do not collapse unrelated sections to
save files. Generated decoupling, straps, pull-ups, and other support parts
remain with their owning block.

How to install
mdr add mattpainter701/kicad_automations/kicad-hierarchy@sha256:86aa5df605d89148The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260710.9da1c93, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
