Search the internet for current information using the DuckDuckGo Instant Answer API. Use when the user asks to find, look up, or search for something online, needs up-to-date information, wants facts about a topic, definitions, or general knowledge that is not available locally. Keywords: search, find, look up, google, what is, who is, define, current, latest, news.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. ## Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Take the user's query and convert it into effective search terms
2. URL-encode the query (spaces become `+`, special characters percent-encoded)
3. Execute the curl command below
4. Parse the JSON response to find the best answer
5. Summarize the results for the user in natural language
6. Always cite the source URL from the response

How to install
mdr add bug-ops/zeph/web-search@sha256:d0a2ed11a5b32f50The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
