Triage GitHub work with the gh CLI — your unread notification inbox, or one repository's issue backlog. Groups what arrived, judges what is urgent, and posts the reply once you approve it. Use when asked to triage issues or notifications, check the GitHub inbox, see what needs attention or what you are blocking, review a backlog, comment on or label an issue, or work out what to fix first.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# GitHub Triage
The bring-your-own-CLI example. This skill declares one permission —
`shell:execute:gh` — which grants the GitHub CLI to this skill's session on this
agent only, restricted to the commands in GAIA's policy table. There is no
connector, no server to start, and no token to hand GAIA: `gh` owns its own auth.
Run every GitHub command through `run_shell_command`.
## Setup
Check before you conclude anything is missing. A command that failed is not
proof `gh` is absent:
```bash
gh --version # installed? ("gh version", no dashes, is refused)
gh auth status # logged in? prints the account and its scopes
```
- `gh --version` fails → not installed. Offer to install it: `winget install
GitHub.cli` (Windows), `brew install gh` (macOS), else https://cli.github.com.
That is not a `gh` command, so the user approves it per-call — ask, then run it.
- `gh auth status` fails → installed but not logged in. `gh auth login` is
interactive and you cannot drive it; hand that one step to the user.
- Any **other** failure is a bug in the command you sent, not a missing `gh`.
Quote the error and fix the command. Never diagnose it as "not installed".

The line at the top of this page pins the label v2.1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
A 17 of 17 checks passed. Fixed automatic checks with no AI involved, so the same checks give the same answer every run.
